More than a week after Cannondale rider Peter Sagan grabbed the backside of a podium girl at the Ronde van Vlaanderen (Tour of Flanders), the two met again before the start of Wednesday’s Brabantse Pijl (Brabant Arrow).
This time, Sagan was armed with a bouquet of flowers and an apology.
The Slovak was captured in a photo handing the flowers to Maja Leye, a 25-year-old who works for the Flanders Classics organization.
Sagan publicly apologized after the incident occurred on March 31, but Wednesday was the first time the pair has seen each other since. On the Flanders podium, Leye was planting the customary kiss on the cheek of race winner Fabian Cancellara (RadioShack-Leopard) when Sagan, who finished second, pinched her derrière.
