Tour of Missouri draws top-notch field

Defending champion Christian Vande Velde (Garmin-Slipstream) will be joined by three Olympic medalists, 18 current or former national champions and 10 Tour de France stage winners when the Tour of Missouri rolls out for stage 1 on Monday in St. Louis.

Ace shooter Casey B. Gibson was on hand for Sunday’s press conference, and his contributions are attached. He caught freshly minted national champion George Hincapie talking about taking the stars and stripes to Missouri, Mark Cavendish checking out the prize for winning stage 1 (just in case), and mechanic Vince Gee washing his 538,325th bike.
