U.S. pro criterium nationals move to July in 2012; elite track nationals without location

USA Cycling on Friday announced the dates and locations for nearly all of the 2012 national championships. The lone significant change next year is the move of the U.S. Professional Criterium Championships to late July in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

USA Cycling on Friday announced the dates and locations for nearly all of the 2012 national championships. The most significant changes next year are the move of the U.S. Professional Criterium Championships to late July in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and gravity nationals to July from late September, in Beech Mountain, North Carolina.

As announced last fall, cyclocross nationals lead off January 4-8 in Madison, Wisconsin, while the Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships close the calendar in Angel Fire, New Mexico, October 19-21. The U.S. Pro Road Race and Time Trial Championships return to Greenville, South Carolina, for the seventh year in a row, May 26-28.

Elite track nationals will run September 27-30, but the location is to be announced. Tandem track nationals do not yet have a date or location.

May 4-6: Collegiate Road National Championships – Ogden, Utah

June 20-24: Elite, U23, Juniors, & Paralympic Road National Championships – Augusta, Ga.
July 5-8: Mountain Bike Cross-Country National Championships – Sun Valley, Idaho
July 11-15: Juniors Track National Championships – Trexlertown, Pa.
July 20-22: Mountain Bike Gravity National Championships – Beech Mountain, N.C.
July 28: Professional Criterium National Championships – Grand Rapids, Mich.
Aug. 2-7: Masters Track National Championships – Colorado Springs, Colo.
Sept. 5-9: Masters Road National Championships – Bend, Ore.
Sept. 15: Mountain Bike Marathon National Championships – Bend, Ore.
Sept. 21-23: Collegiate Track National Championships – Frisco, Texas
Sept. 27-30: Elite Track National Championships – TBA
Sept. 29-30: Mountain Bike 24-Hour National Championships – Colorado Springs, Colo.
Oct. 19-21: Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships – Angel Fire, N.M.
