Team Sky has added a former Pegasus Sports team rider to its 2011 rider.

Christian Knees, 29, the German road champion is the British team’s seventh addition for the new season, bringing the squad to 29 riders.

“Christian is a super strong all-rounder who has had some terrific results, but I still don’t think we have seen the best of him yet and hopefully we can help him fulfill his massive potential at Team Sky,” said team principal Dave Brailsford.

Knees rode for Milram in 2010. When that team was shuttered, he signed with the Pegasus program, which failed to receive UCI registration.
