Tour de France shifts dates, Harelbeke joins WorldTour
The UCI WorldTour will see a mid-summer shift around the London Olympics in 2012. The UCI released its race calendars for the coming year on Tuesday and events affected include the Tours de France and Poland. The Tour de France will run a week earlier than usual, June 30-July 22.

The UCI WorldTour will see a mid-summer shift around the London Olympics in 2012. The UCI released its race calendars for the coming year on Tuesday and events affected include the Tours de France and Poland.
The Tour de France will run a week earlier than usual, June 30-July 22. The London Games open July 27, with road cycling events beginning on July 28 with the men’s road race.
The Tour of Poland moves forward from early August to July 10-17, with the post-Tour Clasica Ciclista San Sebastian moving back to August 14 from its usual place on the weekend following the Tour de France.
The WorldTour will open January 17 in Australia with the Tour Down Under.
The only new event on the calendar is the semi-classic E3 Prijs Vlaanderen-Harelbeke, March 23. The move creates a two-week run of cobbled WorldTour classics that includes Harelbeke, Ghent-Wevelgem, Ronde van Vlaanderen and Paris-Roubaix.
