“Our aim is to provide exciting races for all competitors and spectators and to continue the tradition of a national cyclo-cross festival,” Stevens said.
The organizers have several ideas for race sites across New England, including Dhenahey Park, Hopkinton State Park and the Chocksett School. The site for the 2005 event will be selected before the 2004 championships in Portland.
In Kansas City, KLM Marketing Solutions will promote the championships, with Liberty Memorial Park the proposed venue.
“I think we bring a good insight as to what the athletes want and expect out of an event,” said KLM Marketing Solutions President Bill Marshall, a 20-year cyclist. “When I go to events, I look at things and think about what I would do differently.”
