Nijs takes ‘cross World Cup in Spain
Belgian Sven Nijs made it 2-for-2 on Sunday, holding off countryman Bart Wellens to take the win at the second round of the cyclo-cross World Cup in Igorre, Spain. Two weeks ago Nijs won the World Cup opener in Monopoli, Italy. Nijs now has a 20-point lead in the overall standings of the six-race series, with Wellens in second, followed by Richard Groenendaal, Mario De Clercq and Jiri Pospisil.
