Wearing the Women’s WorldTour leader’s jersey, Megan Guarnier won big again at the Philadelphia International Cycling Classic, her third win in as many weeks. She also won the Tour of California, and repeated as national road race champion. Only two women could follow Guarnier’s move on Manayunk, Elisa Longo Borghini (Wiggle – High5) and Canyon – SRAM’s Alena Amialiusik, but neither could stay on Guarnier’s wheel the whole way up, and the American national champion came across the line three seconds ahead.
Bepink
Amber Neben was the lone American on the Bepink squad at the Philadelphia race. She finished 39th overall, 1:12 back.
Boels – Dolmans
Boels’s squad in Philadelphia included two American women; Megan Guarnier and Evelyn Stevens. Stevens finished fourth, nine seconds behind her teammate.
Brent Bookwalter (BMC)
Bookwalter began the final Tour de France prep race Sunday at the Critérium du Dauphiné. After the four-kilometer uphill prologue, Bookwalter was the top American, in 27th place, 58 seconds behind race leader Alberto Contador.
Canyon – SRAM
Alexis Ryan was the only American on the Canyon – SRAM squad in Philly. While her teammate Alena Amialiusik finished third overall, Ryan was 67th.
Colavita – Bianchi
The American UCI team was headed by Jessica Cutler, who finished 47th overall, 1:28 behind Guarnier.
Cylance
Cylance raced in Philly for Kristabel Doebel-Hickok, who finished in the top 10. She was ninth overall, 14 seconds behind Guarnier.
Chad Haga (Giant – Alpecin)
Haga continued his European campaign in France at the Critérium du Dauphiné. After the prologue, he was 106th overall.
Hagens Berman – Supermint
The Hagens Berman squad had four Americans on the start in Pennsylvania, led by Scotti Lechuga, who was the team’s second finisher, but the first of the four Americans in 15th.
Adrian Hegyvary (UnitedHealthcare)
Hegyvary travelled to Japan for the eight stage Tour of Japan. He finished 65th overall and was fifth in the final stage
Alex Howes (Cannondale)
National road race silver medalist Alex Howes left the U.S. for France and the Dauphiné. He was 98th overall after the prologue.
Carter Jones (Giant – Alpecin)
Jones hasn’t raced in almost a month, but took to the Dauphiné start line Sunday. He is 118th after the prologue.
Luke Keough (UnitedHealthcare)
Keough joined Hegyvary in Japan for the Tour, but did not finish the penultimate seventh stage.
Ben King (Cannondale)
King left the United States after the national championships and went to France with Howes and the Cannondale squad. After the uphill prologue, he was 2:05 behind Contador, in 108th place.
Gavin Mannion (Drapac)
Mannion is the lone American in the Tour of Korea. After the first stage, he was 79th overall.
Rally Cycling Women
The Rally squad was headed by Heather Fischer, who finished the race in Philadelphia in sixth place, 11 seconds back.
Tibco – SVB
Team Tibco – SVB were animators in the Philadelphia Classic Sunday afternoon, and Brianna Walle reaped the rewards of their efforts. She finished fifth overall, 11 seconds behind Guarnier.
Twenty16 – Ridebiker
The Twenty16 – Ridebiker team brought three American women to Philadelphia. The best finisher of the trio was Janelle Cole, in 19th.
UnitedHealthcare women
Coryn Rivera was UHC’s top finisher at the Women’s WorldTour race, in 13th place, 25 seconds behind Guarnier.
Alexey Vermeulen
After the prologue, 21-year-old Vermeulen was the second-highest placed American in France, in 65th.
Visit Dallas – DNA
The Visit Dallas squad was the only all-American team at the race in Philly Sunday. The team’s best finisher was Mandy Heintz, who came across the line 1:18 behind Guarnier, in 42nd place.
Wiggle High5
In the Philadelphia International Cycling Classic, Wiggle High5 took the queen of the mountains jersey with Mara Abbott. Overall, she finished 71st, 5:27 behind race winner Megan Guarnier.
