The Guardian: London Olympic TT courses finalized
The Guardian reports on the London TT Olympic courses, writing, “while Buckingham Palace will be the backdrop to the Olympic road race, the time trials on 1 August are based on the edge of the capital at Hampton Court, start and finish location for a brief tour of the Surrey stockbroker belt. The start and finish are on the driveway in front of the palace while the names along the route sound as leafy as London outliers get: Esher, Kingston, Teddington, Sandown, East and West Molesey.”
The Guardian: Queally plots Olympic return
The Guardian (again) reports that Jason Queally vows to make a comeback in time for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. “I was asked if I would like to come back into the team sprint squad by senior management to try out for man three in London,” Queally told the Guardian via email. “I have said yes and will start training with the team after the World Championships. It’s my belief that this opportunity gives me the best chance of competing in London and so I have decided to go for it.”
The International News: India a no-show at Tour of Pakistan
The 11-stage race started Tuesday with around 60 racers. “India had confirmed the entry of their six cyclists and they had kept their correspondence with the Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) but eventually they decided to skip it, apparently due to security reasons.” WAPDA’s Sabir Ali had won the first stage.
