Olympic mountain biker and 2011 Tour de France top 10 finisher Jean-Christophe Peraud has extended with Ag2r La Mondiale through 2014. The French squad announced the signing Friday.
On Thursday, the team announced the acquisitions of Davide Appollonio, who rode with Sky for 2011-12 and Carlos Betancur of Acqua & Sapone.
Peraud won a silver medal in men’s cross-country at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and will start the mountain bike race in London a week from Saturday. He rode through a difficult Tour last month, finishing well off the pace of winner Bradley Wiggins (Sky), but should be back for the Tour in 2013.
Appollonio, 23, won a stage at the Tour of Luxembourg in 2011. Betancur scored a top-10 result at the Giro di Lombardia classic last year and won the Trofeo Melinda and a stage of the Tour of Belgium this year.
