Squatting on the side of the road mid-ride has always been a perilous endeavor for female cyclists. It’s become standard operating procedure to wrestle with clothing based on men’s designs, sometimes mere feet from traffic — modesty be damned.

Velocio designed its women’s apparel line before the men’s, and the change is nowhere more obvious than in the Superfly bibs, which feature a rear zipper system that doesn’t require the removal of jerseys or outer layers when nature calls.

More importantly, the savvy design sets an industry standard for how women’s riding clothes should be designed: for women first.
