Theo Bos (Blanco) won stage 2 at the Tour de Langkawi on Friday in Kuala Kangsar.

Andrea Guardini (Astana) was second on Friday’s mostly flat, 117km route, which was broken up by a Cat. 2 climb in the middle of the stage. Aidis Kruopis (Orica-GreenEdge) finished third.

The majority of riders in the field finished with the same time as Bos, who takes a 10-second GC lead into the first weekend of the 10-day race through Malaysia. Guardini is second in the GC standings.

Meiyin Wang (Hengxiang) sits 11 seconds behind Bos in third.

The GC could see a drastic shake-up after Saturday’s stage 3, a 141km day that ends with a Cat. 1 and an HC climb in the Cameron Highlands.
