With relaxed geometry and shaped carbon tubing, the RT-1000 is a blend of aero and endurance. Constructed from Kestrel’s Enhanced Modulus Hybrid (EMH) carbon, the bike offers a relatively harsh ride, despite the fact that it puts up only modest stiffness numbers.

Of note: The Legend uses an unorthodox Acros The Clamp integrated headset, instead of a traditional integrated headset. The design is somewhat tricky. Acros forgoes the use of a screw under the top cap to tighten the headset. Tighten a tiny setscrew at the top of the head tube to maintain bearing load.

The RT-1000 would be a good choice for an enthusiast who likes to go long on the weekends or ride the occasional gran fondo. With a well-above-average components spec, it’s hard to beat that price.
