ISTANBUL, Turkey (AFP) — Mark Cavendish won the second stage of the Tour of Turkey at Antalya on Monday, retaining the overall lead he took after Sunday’s opening run.

The British speedster covered the 180 kilometers from Alanya in 4:21:32, once again relying on his finishing skills to edge the field in a sprint finish.

Cavendish, who won four stages in last year’s race, leads the overall standings ahead of Italians Sacha Modolo (Lampre-Merida) and Nicola Ruffoni (Bardiani-CSF).
