Emma White, Justin Lindine win NBX GP opener
It was the first UCI victory for Emma White, who attacked a lead group to win, while Lindine prevailed in a two-up battle with Curtis White

Emma White (Cyclocrossworld.com) and Justin Lindine (Redline-NBX) won Saturday’s NBX Gran Prix of Cyclocross at Goddard Park in Warwick, Rhode Island.
The weekend’s races serve as rounds 11 and 12 of the Verge New England Cyclocross Series and rounds seven and eight of the Shimano New England Professional Cyclocross Series.
In the elite women’s race, White, Arley Kemmerer (C3-Twenty20) and Laura Van Gilder (Van Dessel-Mellow Mushroom) formed a lead trio chased by Amanda Carey (Stan’s NoTubes Elite) and Mo Bruno Roy (Bob’s Red Mill-Seven Cycles).
With just a third of a lap to go, White attacked on the sandy beach, opening a lead that stuck, claiming her first UCI victory. Van Gilder finished second with Kemmerer third.
In the men’s race, Mike Garrigan (Van Dessel-Shimano) took the hole shot, but soon it was Lindine riding away with Curtis White (Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com), leaving Garrigan and Dan Timmerman (House Industries-Richard Sachs) to work together a few seconds back.
Lindine attacked White repeatedly, and finally broke clear for the win. White hung on for second while Garrigan claimed third.
