Eurobike 2022 is well and truly behind us now, but such was the sheer volume of new tech, accessories, and stuff on show, our galleries keep on coming.
In part six today, we continue our coverage of Europe’s biggest bike show, taking a look at a range of gear including helmets, new kit, and some interesting wireless tech.

MET had two new kids helmets on show. The updated Crackerjack is designed to be a no-fuss, good-looking kids helmet. There’s a removable visor up front, plenty of vents, and an anti-inscet net.Out back there’s an LED built into the fit-adjusting ratchet, plus plenty of coverage. MET also had the Hooray MIPS younger kids’ helmet on show. The helmet is available in two sizes: XS 46-52 cm and S 52-55cm. The Hooray also gets an LED at the rear. But its main feature is the inclusion of the MIPS-C2 rotational management system. The Hooray MIPS is available in four colours and priced at £65 / €75.Want Ultegra-priced cranks with Dura Ace-sized chainrings? Specialites TA will soon have a solution with these 54:39 12-speed chainrings. No details yet on pricing or availability. Fizik had its Vento Stabilita with Dynamic Arch Support 2.0 on show. The shoes launched last year, and while they look straightforward from this side, a look at the other side reveals more. The Fizik Vento Stabilita is priced at £385 / US$410 / €410 and available now in sizes EU36-48 with half sizes from 37-47. The Dynamic Arch Support 2.0 system wraps around the upper from the BOA closure to the outsoles of the shoe. The system wraps around the plantar arch for customisable support when tightened.The arch support anchors into Fizik’s full-carbon unidirectional R1 outsole. The new Stabilitas get BOA’s Li2 dials. The shoes are available in Black/Yellow, White/Black, Silver/Black, and Team Edition with a claimed weight of 227 grams per size EU42 shoe.Not exactly new, but the Sportful Giarra Vest caught my eye with its two mesh chest pockets and windproof shell. The pockets are like gravel short pockets for your chest. The gilet features the same 3D polyester fabric and Thermore insulation (which looks a lot like Polartec Alpha) as seen on the Sportful Bodyfit Pro jacket – one of my preferred winter jackets.The vest also features two more standard pockets on the rear. Endura is in on the 3D-printing game with the forthcoming Pro SL 3D Matrix EGM bibs featuring a 3D-printed insert to be released in the new year. More details to follow. For now we just had a brief overview of the product and some prototype samples. This is not the actual insert – thankfully the proposed insert has much more shaping to it and appears much thinner.The rest of the bib shorts look equally impressive with a premium-quality look and feel. WheelTop brought an updated prototype of its EDS OS Series Wireless MTB Drivetrain to Eurobike 2022, and it sounds fantastic. The EDS was first spotted in 2019.Priced at just $365, the EDS is a wireless MTB shifter and derailleur. While currently only available in this flat bar shifter, WheelTop suggested it has plans to develop a drop bar version.The EDS clutch rear derailleur is compatible with anything up to a 52-tooth sprocket and looks and feels premium. WheelTop also offers cranks and cassettes to complete the drivetrain, but the brand is clear it has no intentions of developing a front derailleur. Beast components and Riesel Designs shared a booth in the outdoor space and have partnered to offer Beast component customers a visual twist to any component. These RX60 wheels from Beast feature a 60 mm-deep rim, with a 21 mm internal rim priced at €2,399.90 with DT Swiss 240 hubs. But perhaps more interestingly, the wheels can be ordered with the Riesel graphic treatment as seen here. Beast’s 95 g Pure saddle can get the same treatment. Riesel offers a host of non-permanent protection packs with similarly striking designs. DT Swiss handbuild all their wheels and were demonstrating the process on site. They had planned to build 10 pairs per day, but folks like me stopping to chat meant they only had four complete pairs to show after day one. Alongside the Atmoz tyre pressure management system, Scope also introduced its new AEA-Disc and R9.T time trial wheels. Scope looked at the wheels, tires, bike, and rider as an entire system alongside years of WorldTour time trial data in developing these new time trial wheels to create a wheelset it claims is the fastest in real-world conditions.
The AEA Disc is priced at €2,198, weighs 1,196 g and features a 28 mm external rim with a 21 mm internal. The R9.T features an 88 mm deep, 26 mm external width, and 19 mm internal width rim. The R9.T weighs 887 g and is priced at €998.Scope partnered with Schwalbe tyres to determine a 25 mm front tubeless tyre paired with a 28 mm on the disc wheel at the rear was the best combination for both aerodynamics – more important at the front – and rolling resistance.
Once Scope had determined what it believes to be the optimal tyre width it started analysing rim profiles making use of its Algorithm Enhanced Aerodynamics – the AEA in the wheelset name. Scope’s algorithm is said to calculate the optimum rim profile for the set tyre width and real-world conditions.
