Geox-TMC confirmed its Giro nine, with Denis Menchov and Carlos Sastre leading the formation into the season’s first grand tour.
After being snubbed for the Tour de France, the Giro d’Italia means even more to the outfit looking for a run at overall victory with 2009 Giro winner Menchov. Sastre has already publicly proclaimed that he will be working for the Russian.
Colombians Mauricio Ardila and Fabio Duarte also get a nod, with Duarte likely to have the freedom to go on the attack in a bid for a stage victory. David Blanco, Rafael Valls and Marcel Wyss will provide solid support in the mountains.
