There is perhaps no more trusted name in clothing than Gore when the rain starts falling. The Infinium Hybrid Hooded Jacket joins a massive family of lightweight garments meant to keep you dry and comfortable in gnarly weather. Gore-tex has become the standard-setting fabric, and no one has come close to its functionality. That’s why many of your favorite brands make their jackets out of the material. The Infinium jacket is a good reason to go straight to the source.
When you want some protection from the elements without the bulk of a rain jacket, the C5 jacket works wonders with a minimalist hood, stretch panels, and Gore-tex fabric. It’s packable enough to stow in a hydration pack or your favorite frame bag on your next gravel adventure, too.
While the Infinium is not completely waterproof, it is water-resistant to keep you dry in light showers and drizzle. it’s windproof too, so it’s an ideal choice for blustery days. And perhaps most importantly, it’s breathable so you stay dry and comfortable as long as possible.
The Gore-tex material works in conjunction with softer stretch panels to make the Infinium a comfortable piece of gear. It helps minimize the plastic-bag sensation and even helps to make the Infinium a more attractive piece of gear for your wardrobe. Adjustable cuffs make it easy to work around gloves of varying bulk, and the hood is plenty spacious; you might even be able to get it over your helmet.
We’ve spent a bit of time in the Infinium jacket and will be writing up a full review soon. Stay tuned!
