Jeremy Durrin, Crystal Anthony win round 2 at Baystate Cyclocross
The Optum-Kelly Benefit Strategies teammates top their respective podiums in Sunday's finale

Optum-Kelly Benefit Strategies enjoyed a fine finale to the Baystate Cyclocross Weekend as Jeremy Durrin and Crystal Anthony won the elite races on Sunday.
The weekend’s events, run at the Chocksett School in Sterling, Massachusetts, served as rounds nine and 10 of the Verge New England Cyclocross Championship Series.
In women’s racing, Anthony attacked early on a muddy off-camber section, opening a gap, and Arley Kemmerer (C3-Twenty20) led the chase, with Maureen Bruno Roy (Bob’s Red Mill-Seven) moving into the third spot.
Kemmerer worked her way up to Anthony and the two battled until a series of last-lap attacks finally set the Optum rider free to take the win.
Kemmerer finished second while Elle Anderson (California Giant-Specialized) won her own battle with Bruno Roy to round out the podium in third.
In the men’s race, Durrin found a way to stop the unstoppable Jeremy Powers (Rapha-Focus).
Like Anthony, Durrin got a gap on that technical off-camber bit, and after spending a bit of time in a chase group, Powers finally set off on his own to chase down the leader.
Powers nibbled away at Durrin’s advantage, but could never quite close the gap, and Saturday’s winner had to settle for second on Sunday.
Curtis White (Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com) laid down a last-lap surge to finish third.
