Compton solos to the victory ahead of Cant while Albert bests youngster van der Poel

Katie Compton (Trek Cyclocross Collective) won the Soudal Classics Scheldecross Antwerp on Saturday.

Compton took a lead of a dozen seconds into the final lap and held her edge to the end.

Sanne Cant (Enertherm-BKCP) took second ahead of Nikki Harris (Telenet-Fidea).

In men’s racing, Niels Albert (BKCP-Powerplus) took the victory ahead of Mathieu Van der Poel (Enertherm) and Philipp Walsleben (BKCP).

World champion Sven Nys (Crelan-KDL) finished ninth.
