Marlen Reusser is back and the Swiss powerhouse crushed the final time trial Sunday to seal the overall at the Vuelta a Burgos Féminas and confirm her return to top form after a challenging run.
The Movistar Team rider stopped the clock after 9.4km of racing to win her first individual time trial in two years and capped a strong performance that knocked back the likes of Lotte Kopecky and Elisa Longo Borghini in Saturday’s high-altitude finale.
“This was a good day,” she said. “I felt great, and I really liked the course. It was short, technical, and suited me perfectly. A beautiful return to time trialing.”

After taking a break in 2023 and suffering a broke jaw last year, Reusser’s form had been steadily building all spring and was runner-up finish to Demi Vollering at La Vuelta Femenina earlier this month.
Now, with a GC title in Burgos and a TT win finally back on track, the 32-year-old is on track as a key contender for the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift later this summer.
“This result means a lot. We came here hoping I could win, but we didn’t expect it to be so clear. I’m super happy,” Reusser said. “The team has been incredible all week. Even in the TT, where it’s just you and the bike, they handled every detail so I could focus.”

Reusser won with a solid lead of 1:51 ahead of Italy’s Longo Borghini (UAE Team ADQ), who jumped into second overall with a strong TT, and 1:58 clear of Dutch rider Yara Kastelijn (Fenix-Deceuninck).
Amanda Spratt (Lidl-Trek) and Juliette Labous (FDJ-Suez) rounded out a top-five.
Reusser lines up next on home roads for the Tour de Suisse Women, while other top stars head to the Tour of Britain Women, both in June.
All roads lead to the Tour de France Femmes and the summer clash in France.
