ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill. (VN) —Optum-Kelly Benefit Strategies doubled down on Saturday at the Alexian Brothers Tour of Elk Grove as Ken Hanson and Jade Wilcoxson each won the second stage of their respective three-stage races.

Hanson won stage 2 of the men’s event, a 96.1-mile road race, taking a bunch sprint ahead of Brad Huff (Jelly Belly-Kenda) and Alexander Serebryakov (Team Type 1).

Francois Parisien (Team SpiderTech-C10), who finished third in the prologue and 19th in stage 2, took the overall lead from Optum’s Tom Zirbel going into Sunday’s finale, a 71.4-mile circuit race. John Murphy (Kenda-5 Hour Energy) is second at two seconds down with his teammate Andy Jacques-Maynes third at seven seconds.

In the women’s second stage, a 23-lap criterium run on a 1.2-mile course, Wilcoxson took the victory ahead of Theresa Cliff-Ryan (Exergy) and Kendall Ryan (Tibco-To the Top).

Stage 1 winner Alison Powers (NOW and Novartis for MS Cycling) tops the women’s standings going into Sunday’s circuit race, five laps of a 6.21-mile course. Wilcoxson is runner-up, just one second behind, with Powers’ teammate Anne Samplonius third at 15 seconds.
