Garneau uses various styles of mesh to create a comfortable fit at the waist and adds a treatment to reflect UV rays. These light and airy bibs are easy to reach for when heading out for a training ride, though for long days in the saddle, something a bit stouter is probably a better choice.

That’s because, while the 5 Motion chamois fits well, it is less supportive than other race shorts. If you’re a crit racer or you sneak in hard rides for an hour after work, you’ll like these. If you sit hard in the saddle for six hours at a time, you might not.

The laser-cut leg openings make for a pleasing, seamless aesthetic and the shorts only started to creep up at the knee toward the end of a long day in the saddle; some small leg grippers to finish off the legs would be ideal.
