Amets Txurruka abandoned the Tour de France on Wednesday after breaking his right collarbone in a crash.
His Euskaltel-Euskadi team confirmed the injury, which was to the same collarbone he broke earlier this season at the Tour of the Basque Country.
Txurruka hit the deck early on, appearing to suffer nothing worse than some extensive road rash, but subsequently struggled to keep pace with the peloton and finished 188th at 4:37 — not last, but next to last.
