“Fothen and Kohl can challenge for the overall race, while we are looking for stage victories in the last week,” said team sporting director Christian Henn.
Fothen, fresh off winning a stage at the Tour de Suisse, is hoping to top his 14th overall during the 2006 Tour. Kohl, the team’s lean Austrian climbing specialist, is also looking for a strong GC performance.
The team will also bring sprinter Robert Forster and stage-hunters Fabian Wegmann and Oliver Zaugg.
The team is still searching for a new title sponsor to take over for Gerolsteiner, which ends its long-running support of the team at the end of this season.
