Welcome to Velo’s Eurobike coverage, where we share our favorite things we’ve found at the 2025 show. Bikes, components, accessories, and more: if we think it’s cool, you’ll see it. See the rest of our coverage here.

Eddy Merckx may have just celebrated his 80th birthday, but we all need to celebrate the fact that the Eddy Merckx bike company has released a limited edition Team Capri Sun homage bike.

Europe’s biggest bike show – Eurobike – is underway here in Frankfurt, and we’re on the ground. It’s the eleventh, or is that the twelfth or the thirteenth time I’ve been to the show? I forget. They all merge at some point, but there are always items that pique my interest.

There are years when you get a glut of road bike goodies. Other years, it’s cargo or gravel galore. This year, Eurobike feels a bit more compact than the prior two editions. Even then, there is still some great kit on display.

As mentioned, the show somehow feels more compact this year. There certainly is less e-mobility on show, and less cargo, two areas that have dominated over the past few years. However, the road and gravel side ofcycling seem to have a healthy dose of new products. There may be fewer brands with stands, but certainly, those who are here have something to show, and that means a good dollop of great tech.

New rubber for the UAE team at this year’s Tour. These are the Continental Archetype, lightweight racing tires that shave 35 grams off their previous lightweight racing tires, the 5000 TTR.

In this video, I delve into a few items that have tickled my fancy on day one. First up, we have Classified, thouse people with that clever internally geared rear hub, who, as you may be aware, have just announced a partnership with Shimano, allowing Di2 products to control the Powershift system. That’s not all from them, as the new Classified x TRP Vistar groupset is finally here and in full functioning life. Classified also has a few other bits in the works, including some very fancy chainrings.

Elsewhere, we have new bikes from Ridley, who have just acquired the Nukeproof mountain bikes after it went belly up with the demise of Wiggle/CRC a few years back. The Belgian company has a new e-gravel platform with a tiny, tiny motor ready to aid you. And as they have the Eddy Merckx brand in their portfolio, they’re also celebrating the GOAT’s 80th birthday in style with some limited bikes.

Go on, guess how much this retails for. You’ll have to watch the vid to find out.

At the other end of the time scale, we have something cutting-edge: a bike that Eddy couldn’t have imagined in his racing days. This is new unreleased Factor aero bike, and I got my hands on it to see what could be getting banned by the UCI very soon.

The unreleased Factor. Already in use in the World Tour, but for how long?

Also, in this video, I check out new tyres for Pog from Continental. This super lightweight racing rubber – called the Continental Archetype – will only be used during the Tour. You’ll have to raid your piggy bank if you want a set, however, as they’re not cheap.

There are also Asian bikes that won’t break the bank, even though they look like they should, unreleased groupsets (at least in the Western market), new sunnies, plus much more. So hit that play button and enjoy. Oh, and there’s more to come, so stay tuned.

Cheers,
Dave
