The creator of the successful Almanzo 100 gravel race disappeared from the scene after becoming disillusioned with the monetization of the sport. A nomination to the Gravel Cycling Hall of Fame brought him back.
The seven inductees will be honored at a ceremony ahead of Unbound Gravel.
The Gravel Hall of Fame isn't just about (the very new concept of) gravel pro athletes. The idea is to recognize anyone who has helped or inspire others in this rapidly growing sport.
The inaugural class of the Gravel Cycling Hall of Fame will be inducted later this year. Not everyone is in favor of the idea.
