What to know
The French team is a stalwart of the Tour de France, having participated in the race every year since 1997. Usually a squad for early breakaways, Cofidis will target two goals at this year’s Tour. Elia Viviani is still one of the fastest sprinters in the bunch, so look for Cofidis to try and set him up for the few flat stages at this year’s race. Then, Guillaume Martin turned heads in 2019 with a 12th place overall, and Cofidis would love to have the Frenchman finish inside the top-10.
Our take
Viviani is a top sprinter who is still looking for his first taste of Tour de France success. If Cofidis can iron out its leadout train, look for Viviani to win a stage or two.
